CAC all women's art show Opening Reception and Estes Park mountains - what a combination!
Check out these mountains - awe inspiring -
|Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 mountain range that encircles Estes Park on the west. Those drifting clouds and swirling snow around the mountain peaks were captivating!|
|Heading up into the Rocky Mountain National Park on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012. How do you capture enormous beauty?|
Lynda Vogel, CAC Executive Director, presenting me the 'People's Choice Award' for my painting "Morning Door Geranium." By the way I really liked the abstract painting by Karen Scharer on the right - to see her great work click here.
Margaret Jensen won the Artist's Choice award.Obviously the photo does not capture the true colors and feel of "A Company of Aspens." Click her name to see her web site.
One other artist I met, Debby Ballard, had an eye catching painting called "Little Flock" - there was such warmth, comfort, peace, and assurance in this work. I could feel the Lord in it. Upon visiting with Debby I was delighted to learn it was based on a scripture, Luke 12: 32. Here is an image of it from her web site, even though it doesn't really show what the original displays, it's still worth seeing.
If you are in the Estes Park area between now and April 1st - you can take in the CAC Women's Art Show and of course the majestic mountains - a great combination!
